Sleek and inviting modern luxury

Collaborating with developers and architects to design a home for potential buyers is one of our specialties. We focus on creating functional layouts and selecting materials that will appeal to a wide audience and provide the home buyer with the perfect backdrop for tailoring the space to their taste.

On this project, the modern, top-quality architecture called for refined, thoughtful design choices and material selections. Our team was asked to provide design and color schemes, as well as fixtures and materials selections for the two-story spec home. We chose contrasting materials, textures, colors and patterns that elegantly complement each other, adding layers of warmth while maintaining the minimalist style.

In the open plan kitchen/living/dining space of the main floor, the kitchen takes center stage. A minimalist yet warm impression is created through the combination of cabinetry finishes, counter tops, walls and stainless-steel details. The double waterfall counter, accentuated by the pendants above it, adds a dramatic feature to the space, creating depth and an element of surprise to the design.

Instead of a walk-in pantry, the team chose to create a beverage/wet bar nook at the back of the kitchen. This opens the design and allows the cook(s) and/or the host to work undisturbed while guests have easy access to beverages and refreshments.

Green design choices

In addition to being functional and beautiful, this kitchen was designed with green values in mind. All our under-cabinet lighting is LED and our cabinet materials are *FSC-certified veneers and zero formaldehyde. Green products like these are easier on the environment as well as our health. However, the greatest sustainable aspect of this design might be the long lifespan of the Poggenpohl cabinetry.

Poggenpohl delivers exceptional engineering and detailing. Every element, material, piece of hardware or interior accessory work together. The modular system of beautifully crafted, practical insets can be used for organizing items on the inside as well as for cooking and serving on the outside. This makes it possible to repurpose the different workspace areas without having to remodel—by simply changing the insets, this product will function effortlessly for years to come.
