This second home for an immediate family of five, plus extended family and friends, offers a rustic yet elegant setting for family holidays and special occasions as well as business related entertaining.
Our role on the project was to translate the client vision of a rustic, yet elegant, cabin style resort home into a unique design, incorporating already existing furniture into the design. The scope was full service interior and exterior design specifications and drawings for successful execution by the general contractor, Swiftwater Custom Homes, and associated subcontractors. During our initial meetings the client priorities were defined keep rustic lodge/ cabin feel in all materials selected. Quality products with excellent value and long term durability.
In an early meeting we proposed the idea that the bunk bathroom could be themed after an outhouse and the client agreed – we knew it was going to be a fun project to work on for the next 18 months! Our client was consistently open to our creative design ideas and also utilized our skills on site when their work/travel schedules dictated that they could not be there. We were decision makers and information conduits that kept the project progressing to completion.
Each room in this home has a distinct design concept and color scheme, and yet, as you move from room to room, an overall flow and consecutiveness from one space to another still exists.
